It’s only been one day, and SONUS has already met and far exceeded all of my expectations.
Croatia is breathtakingly majestic and the people are undeniably cool as shit. There are attendees from all over the world including France, Serbia, Brazil, the US and of course Italy.
The festival grounds are three beautifully designed nightclubs nestled in a cove. One of the largest, Papaya, has no roof just a series of balconies and large raised platforms, with a mini amphitheater tricked out with amazing lights. There is a pool and the daredevil addition of a suspended cage for revelers to bungee jump above the party. Despite my ambition to circulate between all three venues last night, to try and catch Jamie Jones and Laurent Garnier, I couldn’t bring myself to leave Robert Dietz, Yaya and closer Loco Dice. And what else can be said except he most definitely brought that signature aggressiveness, all the way through a stunning sunrise over the cloud-capped mountains and calm blue waters. The vibe was phenomenal, pulsing and grooving everywhere you turned from start to finish.
Check out some of his brilliance below.
